Our Response to the Tragedy and Attack in Israel

I'd like to express my gratitude to all of you, whether you're friends, family, customers, or partners who have been sending us many messages of support and keeping us within your thoughts.
2023 has been an incredible year of development, progress and impact, of making lifelong friends in forging a new future for the betterment of all. It saddens us to see the tragedy unfolding in the Middle East, our home and where our technology was first conceived.

Predictive Equations is a US based, American-Israeli & international composed group of amazing individuals.
Over half of our founding team who have created this amazing technology to combat social injustice, mass incarceration, as well as enable medical research and analysis, even security & defense are Israeli. Who have homes in cities that were attacked. Perhaps the first jewish pogrom of the 21st century, and tragically occurred in the only jewish state. As another great leader, the mayor of New York said recently, we are not alright.

Home is where you should be safe, where you can leave a loved one and come back to see them later.
That safety was ripped from us, when many were attacked in their own homes and shelters and places of refuge.

We were fortunate that our team members are safe, but it is no small thing to say we are hurting. We hurt because our fellow people have been killed, so many murdered or injured that everyone knows someone directly harmed. All of us are grieving. Israel is not a large country, comparable in size to New Jersey. We hurt because we have neighbors and friends who were killed and harmed. It’s the kind of place when you go to the biggest towns there is still a very good chance on a random given bus or train someone will spot and recognize you.
Even now our staff in Israel is engaged in volunteer work at hospitals or engaged with the military directly, and our thoughts and efforts are with them.

We were rocked to learn of the assault, with insurgents, terrorists, call them what you will reached Beer Sheva, the town we hold operations. Team members were drafted, family as well. To see all of this from afar, as our office and home were evacuated… To see such intense violence and its aftermath is a brutalness no one should have to witness.

But we do because as a people we come together to honor each other- that is part of the tapestry we weave in working together to build that country, living each day that we can as best we can.

There are no easy answers in war. And the carnage on civilian life and suffering inflicted so unnecessary and offensive, on neighbors and friends,
rends the soul and makes my heart go out to all those who have lost a loved one. Our thoughts are with our people, as we work to bring the hostages home, and ensure the safety for our future.

We are doing everything we at Predictive Equations can to support team member safety, and support for the defense of their homes.
Our thoughts are with those fighting, with those searching for missing loved ones, and those still fighting for a better future.

Israel will triumph in this awful war.
The attack was indiscriminate, so absolute that anyone even associated with Israel was attacked in the process.
Many from many nations are grieving. The aggressors vowing days of jihad and violence, not just for Jews and Israelis, but Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, and the secular among so many others.
A threat of violence against the world, which the world cannot tolerate.
These same aggressors would use their own people and children as shields, a terrible tragedy that they do not deserve.

Remember the innocent, those who never asked for this on either side, who have lost loved ones in this madness.
That evil is an existential threat for all of us, but evil will be defeated.
Duty mandates in building a better future wielding a sword at times instead of a hammer. Or both.

Regardless of what happens next- so many are also feeling despair at the situation, that it had to happen at all.
I say to them and my staff that no matter how dark or grim things may be, always look for the helpers.
The ones who help the injured to the hospitals, to those clearing rubble and ensuring the animals who lost their owners are taken care of compassionate. The ones looking to bring order to the chaos, and some good from the evil.
The ones who still bear torches of light at night for others to find a way forward.
It is our promise at Predictive Equations for the organization we have been building, and our technology, to serve likewise.

Remember it is okay to grieve, and not have an answer.
Remember it is okay to be angry, and it is okay to protect oneself and those they love.
But remember not to lose yourself in it.
For there won’t be a better tomorrow without you, or the willingness to forge that better future.
